The 17 thAnnual International Biocuration Conference (AIBC-2024) is being jointly organized by the Indian Biological Data Centre (IBDC), Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), Faridabad and Department of Plant Molecular Biology, University of Delhi South Campus for the first time in India. Mentored by the International Society of Biocuration (ISB), the conference provides a unique opportunity to curators, developers, data stake holders at global level to interact and exchange ideas and expertise. As data science emerges as an integral component of almost all aspects of life science research, it is imperative that the data curation community continues to evolve to become more inclusive and diverse. The 17th chapter of this annual extravaganza comes with a distinct ‘flavour’. As more and more data continues to be generated from the extremely diverse biodiversity (fauna/flora including ethnic human population) in India, the interaction of the global biocuration community with the national stake holders (data generators, curators, developers) shall unfold exciting opportunities. Participants from academia, government and industry are encouraged to participate.
With great enthusiasm, we extend our warm invitation on behalf of the organizing committee to join us at the 17th Annual International Biocuration Conference. Secure your spot today and take advantage of our early bird registration rates. Your presence will contribute to the vibrant exchange of knowledge and ideas that make this event exceptional.
All the events of the 17 thAnnual International Biocuration Conference (AIBC-2024) will be held at the auditorium complex of the ‘National Capital Region (NCR) Biotech Science Cluster’ in Faridabad, India. The complex houses the Indian Biological Data Centre (IBDC), Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), Faridabad. The complex also houses the main RCB building along with BSC BioNEST Bio-Incubator (BBB), RCB and the Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI).
The Data Centre (IBDC) is the first national data centre mandated to archive all life science data generated by public funding in India. The data centre has developed and maintains several web data portals for different type of data sets including nucleotide data, crop phenotyping data and structural biology data.
